About Us
Lieutenant Colonel Edward Parks Royal Marines (Retired) was educated at Wellington College and commissioned into the Royal Marines in 1979. He served in a wide variety of British military units, deployed to many parts of the world and worked with the Armed Forces of numerous countries. He saw active service in Northern Ireland, Africa, East Timor, Iraq and latterly Afghanistan, where he was awarded the United States Army Commendation Medal. He formally studied the D-Day Landings and the WW2 Normandy Campaign during his Command and Staff training and has more than 20 years of experience leading battlefield tours for both military and civilian groups.
Sharon worked for both the British Civil Service (Ministry of Defence) and for a variety of UK and US commercial companies. She has also been a sub aqua diving instructor. It is her love of Normandy and a deep interest in its history that has led her to learn about this fascinating region.

If you take our excursions, we offer “background” presentations (either pre-recorded or an after dinner talk) which we regard as an essential part of the learning process. Audio commentaries are provided in the complimentary transport between locations, making best use of the travel time. We have carefully prepared maps, diagrams and photographs of the locations to enhance your understanding of these world changing historical events.
