Directions: From St Sauveur Le Vicomte, take the D15 road west towards the coastal town of Portbail-sur-Mer. After 4.5 kms, you will find our entrance gate and signpost on the left hand side side of the road, approximately 100 metres after the entrance to the Clinique Veterinaire, which has a separate entrance gate and approach road also on the left of the road.

By Ferry

From the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland

We will collect you from the Ferry Port (Gare Maritime) in Cherbourg. Please let us know the name of the ferry company and date and time of your arrival.

By Rail

From Paris (St Lazare Station).

Paris (St Lazare Station) to Valognes Station - 2 hours 45 minutes (direct train (no changes)).

We will collect you from Valognes Station. Please let us know the date and time of your arrival.It is a 25 minute drive from Valognes to the chateau.

By Road

Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport) to Château de Beaulieu - 350 km (3 hours 40 minutes).

Terms and Conditions

  1. Agreement. Payment of a deposit invoice will be taken by the Proprietors to imply agreement by guests with the Terms and Conditions.
  2. Notification of Dietary Restrictions. Guests are asked to notify the Proprietors of any dietary restrictions on payment of the balance invoice or at least 24 hours prior to arrival. The Proprietors will not be responsible for the lack of appropriate foodstuffs, beverages or ingredients if prior notification has not been given.
  3. Arrival/Departure by Train/Ferry. Complimentary transport will be provided by the Proprietors to and from local railway stations/ferry ports. Whenever most practical, members of groups and or/families will be asked to arrive on the same train.
  4. Accommodation Tax. The French Government charge an accommodation tax (Tax de Sejours). Guests will be asked to pay this tax by cash on arrival. The current tax is 0,80€ (80 cents) per person per day which will be notified on the appropriate invoice.
  5. Cancellation Charge. There is NO charge made for cancellation of a booking at Château de Beaulieu. Clients will receive a full refund of deposits and balances paid at the time of the cancellation.
  6. Vehicle Transport. In order for the proprietors of Château de Beaulieu to comply with the requirements of French Transport Law, all journeys provided by the Proprietors by motorised vehicles on public roads are offered FREE OF CHARGE. Such arrangements are known as SERVICES PRIVÉS (private services) and are governed by Articles R3131-2 and R3131-3 of the Code of Transport. Journeys of this type include collection and delivery of guests from and to local railway stations or ferry ports and any excursions by motorised vehicle to places of cultural or historic interest. The Department of Transport conduct periodic and unannounced road-side inspections of vehicles and documents in order to ensure compliance with the law. It is therefore necessary to carry in any vehicle, written proof that a private service is being provided free of charge. Guests will therefore be asked to sign and date a copy of the appropriate invoice before the start of any excursion.
  7. Charging and Prices. Current prices for services supplied are listed on invoices raised. There is a charge made for the following services: en-suite accommodation, breakfast, dinner, escorted walking excursions around places of historic or cultural interest, as listed elsewhere on this webite, along with provision of oral interpretation, visual aids and museum entry. There is no charge made for the following: alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks provided in the château, motorised transport on public roads for the collection and delivery of guests from and to local railway stations or ferry ports and any excursions by motorised vehicle to places of cultural or historic interest.
  8. Lunch Meals during Excursions. The cost of clients' lunch taken during escorted excursions will be met by the client.
