Château de Beaulieu Normandy
So very special - the hosts are so knowledgeable and hospitality is amazing. Beautiful home and bedrooms, and private tours from extremely knowledgeable couple! Their narratives and presentations enhanced our time in Normandy immensely.
Definitely stay here!!! Edward and Sharon were excellent hosts and tour guides! The chateau is beautiful, food is extraordinary, comfortable beds with exquisite linens. My husband and I and another couple stayed here in October 2019. The other couple have never stayed anywhere other than hotels, so they were unsure of the arrangements. All of us will never forget this trip and the wonderful hospitality of Sharon and Edward. They know every detail of Normandy Battlefields and cemeteries. We watched a presentation that Edward made about the Normandy invasion before our tour so we had a better understanding of what we would be seeing on our tour. The food and drink were fabulous and plentiful. Conversations were always lively and informative! Because of Edward and Sharon, we are all better people because they are full of experiences and information. They are an inspiration to always do better and try different things, but always be a sponge for information. Thank you for providing us with memories of a lifetime!
We brought our 19 year old grandson to France in May, and had the unique privilege of staying with Eddie and Sharon for 4 days. We were immersed in the understated grandeur of their château...and toured all of the beaches of D Day , Pegasus Bridge , and the cathedral and historic tapestries of Bayeux. Eddie, now retired Colonel of the Royal Marines is a well trained mentor of military tactics...and highly capable of sharing in his entertaining manner. Sharon ,with her background in history, also excels. We laughed, and we ate well, and slept in wonderful chateau splendour....a thousand thanks to Eddie and Sharon.
A group of us took over the château in early September. The property is lovely. The rooms have all been modernized but retain the charm of a château. Eddie and Sharon are very hospitable and work extremely hard at pleasing their guests. Eddie did a full day tour for us of the Normandy beaches and as he is a recently retired military man, he has researched his subject well and goes in to a lot more detail than your average tour. In fact, he gave us a slide presentation of the background to D-Day so we would better understand what we were seeing. Sharon cooked a main meal for us which was first class and the breakfasts were typically French with fresh baguettes and croissants. Most of our group have already said they plan to return which says it all. 10 out of 10!
I can’t thank you enough for the hospitality you provided us on our recent visit. You and Edward are the ultimate Host and Hostess. Our room was superb and the food was wonderful and abundant. And, we so much enjoyed the tours of the tapestry and the beaches. Edwards explanations of the event were outstanding and detailed. All in all our visit to Chateau de Beaulieu was wonderful and I will recommend it to anyone traveling to Normandy.
Eddie and Sharon made us very welcome at Château de Beaulieu. They have created a lovely house party atmosphere and could not do enough for us. Our room was very comfortable. The food was delicious, the company excellent. Eddie's tours of the D-Day Landing sites were very good and very informative and Sharon's tour of Bayeux was fascinating and great fun. We would definitely recommend staying here if you want to explore this area of Normandy. It felt like we were leaving old friends when it came time to leave.
